Besan laddoo / Besan ka laddoo / Gramflour sweet balls / Magaj ka laddoo


Besan laddoo is one of the most popular sweets in India. This is the first sweet which I learned to make for the first time and It came out so well. My hubby and kid love this laddoo. I learned this recipe from my mom. She told me about all the details to take care of in making laddoos. This Laddoo recipe is very simple and easy to make. 



We just need to take care of few tiny things because these tiny things can spoil our laddoos. My mom always make laddoo with bhoora or tagaar. She told me two ways to make laddoo :

  • With bhoora 
  • With powdered sugar (grind in mixie or grinder)
I opted the second way because making bhoora seems time taking process to me. So today I am going to share Besan laddoo recipe with powder sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup coarse gramflour or fine gramflour works well too
  • 1/4 cup clarified butter or shudh ghee
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar or bhoora
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder

Method

  • If you don't have powder sugar, grind regular sugar in a dry grinder.
  • Take preferably a nonstick kadhai or simple one.
  • Roast the gramflour on low heat until it start changing its color and smell nutty.
  • Keep stir it so that the gramflour doesn't get burned at the bottom.
  • After 10 min. , add ghee and keep stir it on low heat until it turns golden and nonsticky.
  • Remove the kadhai from heat and leave it on kitchen counter to cool down.
  • Once it is cooled , add powdered sugar and cardamom powder. You can increase the amount of sugar according to your taste. 
  • Mix it well with the help of your both palms.
  • Take 2 or 3 spoonful of mixture and try to bind them in a shape of laddoo.
  • Make small or medium size laddoo.
  • You can garnish the laddoo with cashew or almond.
  • Serve these laddoos immediately or Store them in an airtight container.
