Sehjan or munga ki sabzi / Drumstick curry
Today I am going to share a recipe of Sehjan or munga ki sabzi. Munga is very popular and seasonal vegetable in UP and CG. People use moonga in sambar and rasam as well .Usually It is cooked with potatoes in tomato curry. This sabzi goes with rice and roti very well.
Ingredients
sehjan or drumstick - 8 to 10
potatoes - 2 medium size
tomatoes - 4 to 5
oil (preferably mustard oil) - 11/2 tbs
onion - 1 large
sabzi masala - 2 ts
turmeric powder- 1/2 ts
red chilly powder - to taste
garam masala - 1 ts
salt to taste
cilantro for garnish
Method
Peel the drumsticks and cut into 2 inch length wise.
Peel and cut the potatoes into small cubes.
Chop the onion and tomatoes finely.
Heat the oil in Kadai or pan .Add the onion and sautéed till golden.
Add tomatoes and put the lid on so that tomatoes can cook quickly.Cook the tomatoes till mushy.
