Kheksi or Spiny gourd is a very popular seasonal vegetable and also known as Kantola . Kheksi or Kantola belongs to bitter gourd family but it is not as bitter in taste at all. Kheksi or Spiny gourd is seen in local vegetable market during monsoon only. Nowadays, we can easily get Kheksi in local markets or supermarkets. In our family , we all love to eat Kheksi ki sabzi or Kheksi stir fry . We can serve Kheksi ki sabzi as a side dish with dal-rice and taste amazing. Kheksi stir fry recipe is very easy and simple to cook. We only need five ingredients  ,  Kheksi , oil , onion , green chillies and salt to make amazingly delicious stir fry.

There are many kinds of chutney or sauce prepared in india. People love to eat with everyday food. Our snacks like pakodas or samosas are incomplete without chutney . I asked this reciep from my mom . She told me all the ingredients and proportions. This chutney is prepared by blending raw mango, cilantro, green chilies and mint leaves with some spices together. It comes out so delicious. So I thought , I should share my mom's chutney recipe.

Namak pare or Saloni is very popular snack in India . This snack recipe is super simple and easy that does not require so much time. In my native place (UP) , every small roadside sweet shop (halwayi shop) or tea stall vendors make fresh namak pare everyday for tea time. This recipe reminds me of my childhood days . There are so many shop where they serve some kind of potato curry ( famous as dumaloo there) over these Mathari and it taste amazing.

Hi friends , I am back after long long time with a delicious recipe which is Stuffed eggplants. Bharwa baingan or Stuffed eggplant is one of the most popular stuffed vegetables in North India. This recipe is my family recipe . My mom always cook these stuffed eggplants. Even when she came to visit us , she cooked bharwa baingan for us too. Stuffed eggplants are perfect side dish in summer because this dish stays 2-3 days without refrigeration . Whenever we travel by train , we always carry stuffed eggplants in lunch box. In India , every region have their own way of making bharwa baingan. There are some more variation in the spices used to stuff the eggplants. Some people use grinded panchphoran masala.  The spices that I am using to stuff the eggplants are very simple, easily available in every Indian kitchen and Indian grocery store.

Methi has slight bitter taste that is why when It is combined with potatoes , It taste amazing . My hubby and I love to have aloo methi with parathas. Hi friends , Today I thought to share my family's one of favourite recipe " Kaddu ki kadhi". This Kaddu ki kadhi is a Chattisgarhi recipe. Before marriage , I have never heard about this kadhi. My sister-in-law introduced this recipe to me. So all credit goes to my SIL for telling me this amazing kadhi recipe. We all lave to eat kaddu ki kadhi with hot steaming rice.

Hi friends, Today's featured recipe is Katahal ki sabzi or jackfruit sabzi. I like jackfruit a lot whether it is stir fried or curried. I love it either ways. These days you can easily get jackfruit in market . My mom always serves Katahal sabzi with Chana dal parathas (dalbhari ) and kheer. In Uttarpradesh , there is a local festival when we cook Katahal sabzi , dalbhari and kheer. This festival is known as Ganga Dasshehara.
