Let's start the recipe...
Ingredients
- Paneer or cottage cheese 250 gms.
- Peas frozen or fresh 1/2 cup
- Onion 1 medium
- Tomatoes 2 medium
- Garlic 3-4 cloves
- Ginger 1/2 inch
- Oil 3 tbs
- Coriander powder or sabzi masala 2 tbs
- Garam masala 1 tbs
- Red chilli powder 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Cilantro for garnishing
- Water as required
Method
Grind tomato, onion ,garlic and ginger into a fine paste.
Cut the paneer or Indian cottage cheese into chunks as you wish.
If you are using frozen paneer, after cutting into cubes, blanch them in boiling water for 4-5 mins. This will make them soft. Here I am using frozen paneer so I blanched them for 5 min .
Heat a pan or kadhai, add oil in pan and add the ground onion tomato paste or masala.
Sauté the ground masala for 3-4 mins. And add all the dry spices like coriander powder or sabzi masala, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chilli powder. Add little water so that spices will not get burnt.
Mix all the spices and cook them until cooked masala leave leaves the oil.
Add peas and mix it well.
Add around 1 cup of water and add salt to taste. Give it a stir , cover the pan with a lid and let it cook for 10-20 mins.
After 20 min add the paneer chunks and stir it.
Let it cook for another 10 mins and garnish with chopped cilantro.
Here peas paneer gravy curry is ready , serve with hot parathas or naan.
