Methi Missi Roti / Fenugreek Gramflour bread / Methi Besan Roti

Missi roti is very popular in UP and Punjab. It's a bread which is made up of the combination of  wheat flour , gramflour and few spices. Actually I gave a little healthy touch of methi or fenugreek leaves to this original missi roti and it has become Methi missi roti.
Methi missi roti is a very healthy and delicious too. Even it's very good for kids. I always make Missi rotis for my DS twice in a week for breakfast. Missi rotis can be a very good and healthy breakfast.
So friends let us start the recipe.

 Ingredients

  • 1 cup Methi or fenugreek leaves finely chopped
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup gramflour
  • 2 tbsp oil for kneading dough
  • 1/4 onion finely chopped
  • 2 green chilly
  • 1/4 tsp Carom seeds
  • Salt to taste

Method

Rinse the methi leaves properly.
Chop the fenugreek leaves finely.

Finely chop the onion and green chilly.
Take a mixing bowl , add wheat flour and gramflour .

Add oil , methi leaves , onion , green chillies , carom seeds and salt.
Mix it well and rub it with your palm.

Slowly add water and make a nice and smooth dough.

Apply oil all over the dough and Keep the dough aside to set for 20 mins.

Heat a tava .
Divide the dough in equal portions just like roti or paratha.

Dust the surface and roll a roti.

Cook this roti on tava or griddle till it is cooked on both sides.

I personally love to make paratha of this dough.
So if you want to make paratha , take a ball of dough .
Make a small poori shape, apply little oil over it and fold it to make a triangle shape.

Dust the surface and make a paratha.
Cook this paratha on the griddle by applying oil on both sides.

Cooke both sides of paratha or rotis.
Serve hot with yoghurt, pickle and raita.

Enjoy!!!
